My fragrance and perfume collection

As posted in Instagram I promise to write something about my fragrance perfume collection. So here we go...

Starting from left to right. Perfumes or eau de toilette.

Ck one.
A unisex fragrance with oak and citrus almost mint hint in it. It lasts all day long, even your clothes smell after wearing it. It is a fresh smell and I recommend these for young adults men and females as we'll as teenagers that start using this kind of products. I'll finish this bottle but maybe I won't repurchase it again. I think i'm too old for this kind of perfume.

Ralph Lauren
I started using the Ralph Lauren perfume in the blue bottle since I was a teenager or in my early 20s. It is a spring summer fragrance and As I stated before for young women. This could be a very nice gift for teenager or for a sweet 16.

Hanae Mori
Sweet vanilla candy. What else could I say? This is for the perfect smell for that young lady in her 20s or 30s who wants to keep that sweetness her. This was a gift from my mom in Mother's Day. I'm been trying it for some days ago and I like it very much. This is my kind of smell for a romantic and sweet date.

Estée Lauder pleasures exotic
A very classic smell. Is a combination of the original Estée Lauder pleasures with a fruity hint. A spring/summer romantic fragrance that can be used in day or night for any kind of events. I tried it in my late 20s and was a gift from my now husband when we were dating. Since then I almost use it every day, so I have repurchase it several times. In me it last long and even my clothes are in impregnated  with the perfume. I totally recommend it for a romantic personality.

Versace bright crystal
Candy and flowers. This smell is a combination of sweetness and flowers, like being in the summer fields eat eating candy. It is very fresh and perfect for the daytime. This was a gift from my husband and we first noticed this perfume in Vogue magazine.

Fragments and body sprays.

The Body Shop Beautiful Day
All the Body Shop products have exquisites fragrances, from the body washes to the perfumes to the candles. These particular spray smells  flowery with a fresh spring and grassy tint on it. This is a kind of frangrance that you can wear every day without getting tired of it because it is soft and dedicate. This can be wore from teenagers to a mature women. Is a perfect smell for the beach date.

Victoria's Secret Mango Temptation
Like the name says it smells like mango with a twist of flowers. It is a very fresh and summer fragrance and can be used by many women with different age ranges. I recommend this for traveling so it is not expensive and you can spray it all over your body and the smell good all day. You can combine these spray whith the body wash in the same smell, a relaxing  feeling after a long day.

All the smells where interpreted by my own version. If you want to have the complete description of each product visit the brand website.

Keep in mind that some perfumes and body sprays may smell different on each person. This is because of the pH of the skin and that cleansing products you use. To know if a perfume is right for you you can go to the store and try it, wear it all day without any other products on your skin and smell it at the end of the day and decide if you like it or not.

Skin care

Sometimes, almost everyday, I don´t have time to wear makeup. Being a SAHM (stay at home Mom) I have too little time for myself. Even though I like to take care of my face. This is me without makeup:

I can say that my skin looks pretty good now. I think. ;)

What I'm using?
Eucering Hyaluron-filler day and night creams as well as the Eucerin Q10 Active Eye cream.

Why do I use this brand?
I really like Eucerin because is dermatological, having a combo skin (dry and greasy T-zone), moisturizes, do not cause irritation, acne or excesive grease. The day cream has SPF15 that is important to use to prevent sun damage like premature wrinkles or sun spots. Also, this are antiaging, this does not mean that you need to have lines (fine or deep) to start using this type of products. Many makeup artists and beauty experts say that as soon as you start using antiage products, the better. I start using this creams when I was 27 years old.

How much it cost?
Depending on were you live. Approximate $400 mxn at HEB in Mexico or $40USD at amazon.com.

How do you use it?
At day, after showering and washing my face with soft soap and water, I apply the eye cream in small quantities in all my dark circles and the lids. After, I continue moisturizing the rest of my face. At night, even if I didn't wear makeup that day, I clean my face with a facial wipe, rinse it and apply the eye cream again and the night cream. It is very important that you DO NOT confuse day and night creams because night creams normally are more concentrated and do not contain SPF, and if you go outside in the sun, you can have sun burn.

Will you buy it again?
Yes! I have tried other brands like Aveeno, Ponds and even the baby brand Mustela. This is the one that works better on me.

There are a lot of brands in the market. Some cheap some other expensive, but it will depend of the needs you have. You must consider your skin type, dry, normal, greasy, combo. I recommend that any time you buy any products, try to get a sample to prevent purchasing and not using them. Every skin is different, what works for me, may not work for you. I recommend you go to a dermatologist if you have severe dryness or acne.

Hope this helps,

How to depot MAC eyeshadows.

Many makeup artists or simple mortals like me, like to use professional makeup like MAC. As you browse YouTube, we can see that many (if not all) beauty gurus use MAC eyeshadows in their looks and tutorials.

MAC eyeshadows are sold individually, but in the MAC Pro Stores they have palettes and refill pans. Even though some colors do not came in the refill pan version, and the problem emerges: "How do I take this out?! I already bought the 15 eyeshadow palette!!!"

Well, you can find a lot of videos explaining the solution, but the one I found the easiest, is explained in this video by YouTubberbeautifymeeh

I followed her instructions and the eyeshadow didn't break. This method works for blushes too, even with other brands of eyeshadows that have the same size to fill the space in the palette. Also, there are  different types of palettes without divisions were you can save blushes and shadows in the same place, like the Z Palette. You can search for this in Amazon.com.

Why to use a palette instead of having the complete eyeshadow or blush?
To have your eyeshadows or blushes in the same place, saves some time when you are getting ready when you are in a hurry, in the morning or if you are already late for a date or a wedding. Palettes saves space in your bags when traveling. Also, you can put all the colors for one look in one place!

I hope this helps.

My first MAC brush

After watching over and over again, the tutorials on YT, I decided to buy myself a brush: a MAC one, to achieve better looks and to start practicing with it. Before I used brushes (as anyone else out there I think) I used the sponge tip applicator that came with the eye shadow quads.

So, I went there and ask for the 239, to apply packing the eyeshadow in all the eyelid. The description in MAC website is:

"Soft and dense to shade or blend eye shadow or emollient-based products. This brush has a tapered, rounded edge with smooth, firm, fine fibres. It can be used to build intense colour on the eyelid. M·A·C professional brushes are hand-sculpted and assembled using the finest quality materials. They feature wood handles and nickel-plated brass ferrules."

I still have mine, maybe after 6 years.

Does it works?
Yes it does the job. I like to apply highly pigmented eye shadows as well as loose pigment with one side of the brush parallel to the lid. We can even blend a bit the crease with the tip of it, and apply more color in the lower lid. It helps the color pop and prevents too much fall out. It also works well with cream eye shadows.

How much it cost?
In the website, is listed in $30USD. The price can vary depending on were you live.

Are the similar brushes to this?
Yes, a lot of brands, different prices: E.l.f., Beauté Basics, Realtechniques, etc... They work very similar and some are even bigger

In the picture below, from top to bottom:
MAC 239
Beauté Basics
Borghese
elf eyeshadow "C" Brush

Do you'll repurchase it?
Maybe, maybe not. As said before, I have it for a long time, it does the job and I have this other brushes that are cheaper and also, some are part of a whole set.

Swatches:
Using a MAC eyeshadow, below are the swatches and you can see the four brushes work perfectly fine and the pay off is similar.

You decide what you want. This is my personal opinion and I bought all the products chosen. Hope this helps.

Welcome/Bienvenido

Some time ago, I started following beauty and makeup Youtubbers. I was fascinated of how they do their looks, makeup, hairstyles, etc. They even made me buy some of the products they used. That's how I ended trying Mac Cosmetics, Sephora, Coastal Scents, Urban Decay, MUF, Nyx, and so on. I learned how to make diffenrent looks on myself and how to style my crazy frizzy hair. I became a makeup and nail polish addict!

I first got inspiration when looking for my bridal makeup, I remember the first video I watch was from Lauren Luke (or panacea81 in YT); I signed up and started following her inmediatly. I'm 5 years married, so there is a looong way to today. Then, my suscription list became bigger and bigger, found Julia Graf and the Pixiwoo sisters (by the way the Real Techniques Brushes are AWSOME... I'll write about them soon), Lilithmoon, Lisa Eldrige, Marlena from MakeupGeek, etc...

I'm a 30year-old FTM living in Mexico, I try to get the best of quality and price in different beauty products. I'll try to review them and make my honest opinion of how they worked on me. Some will be the worldwide brands and other the local ones. At the same time, I will post some tips about baby products I recommend to FTM out there, family and friends.

So, if you are reading this, thank you so much for passing by. I'm camara shy, so I prefer writing. Also, I started this in english, but I may post in spanish too.  Please leave a comment or question and I'll try to answer as soon as possible. Be polite, manners are part of our beauty too!

Thank you!
